Fall Is Coming: Our Edmonton Fall Bucket List
Fall in Edmonton is short, so we’re making the most of it! From pumpkin patches and corn mazes to colourful trails, markets and spooky Halloween events, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy the season.
Here are a few things we’re adding to our Edmonton Fall Bucket List:
1. Visit Prairie Gardens
Make a day of it at Prairie Gardens! Visit the baby goats in the Petting Farm, hop aboard the trackless train, explore the garden, try your hand at the Lost Lemon Gem Mine and let the kids burn off some energy in the mazes and playgrounds.
Your farm admission also includes the petting farm, train ride, lawn games, slides, playgrounds, haunted house, U-Pick apples and more. Pack a picnic and make an afternoon of it!
2. Get Lost at the Edmonton Corn Maze
Every year, the Edmonton Corn Maze creates a brand-new design in a living field of Alberta corn. With two connected mazes, it’s the perfect fall activity for testing your sense of direction — and seeing who in your group actually knows where they’re going.
3. Check Out Kaleido Family Arts Festival
Kaleido is back for its 21st annual celebration of arts and community on Alberta Avenue.
Enjoy three days of music, theatre, dance, street performances, artisans, pop-up galleries and plenty of great food. It’s a fun way to experience one of Edmonton’s most creative neighbourhoods and celebrate local artists.
4. Visit Pumpkins After Dark
Get into the Halloween spirit at Pumpkins After Dark! Wander through incredible illuminated pumpkin displays, watch live entertainment and pumpkin carving demonstrations, grab some seasonal treats and, of course, take plenty of photos.
5. Get Spooked at DARK
Looking for something a little scarier? DARK returns to Edmonton October 2–31, 2026.
The Halloween festival features spooky beats, local food, two scare zones, three returning haunts and a brand-new hauntfor 2026. Definitely one for the Halloween lovers!
6. Pick Your Own Pumpkin
Skip the grocery store and pick your own pumpkin at Somerset Farms! Choose your favourite, take it home and make an afternoon out of carving it once Halloween gets closer.
7. Visit the Hello Pretty Market – Book Club Edition
Calling all book lovers! Hello Pretty is hosting a Book Club Themed Market on Saturday, October 3, with curated lattes, bookish photo ops and plenty of local shopping. Come sip, shop and get cozy for fall — whether you’re a casual reader or a full-on bookworm.
8. Find a New Favourite Fall Coffee
Pumpkin spice season is here! Pick a local coffee shop you haven’t tried yet, order something warm and seasonal and spend an afternoon exploring a new Edmonton neighbourhood while you’re at it. Here are a couple suggestions:
9. Take in the Fall Colours
You don’t have to go far to enjoy some of the best fall scenery around. Grab a coffee, lace up your walking shoes and spend an afternoon exploring Edmonton’s River Valley and its many trails while the leaves are at their peak. You can find a list of River Valley trails here.
10. Make a Fall DIY
Set aside an afternoon for a little fall crafting! Paint ceramic ghosts, make your own pumpkin decorations, create a spooky wreath or try your hand at a fun Halloween DIY. Put on a fall playlist, grab your favourite seasonal drink and make something you can bring out every year. Not feeling super creative? Here are some facilitated workshops:
Save this list and start checking things off! 🍂
